Hootsuite and HubSpot

I never thought about getting a certificate in anything related to social media. I did not know that companies like Hootsuite and HubSpot existed and I certainly never knew how much work actually goes into posting on social media, especially for an organization. I always assumed that someone had to go on the page and manually upload the post. I also thought that organizations just posted the same exact things everywhere without changing any part of it. In my eyes social media was not really a tool, it was just something that I would go on to have fun and I never took a look into what companies where actually doing. There is so
much work going into these posts and all that work has not been in vain, because for many companies these posts have allowed them to reach their buyer persona and others who may be interested in their company. When the Hootsuite and HubSpot certifications were mentioned in my social media strategies class, I had a lot of questions and a lot of doubt that these would help me. I thought knowing the basics of social media and marketing would help me do everything that I need to do but I was wrong. Having went through these courses, I realized that I underestimated the time it takes to make a good posts and that I had closed myself off to the tools that would help me become a better social media manager for myself or an organization. There are a lot of social media platforms and through these courses I was able to learn who is on each platform and what platform is best to use if I want to reach a certain demographic. I never thought of making a content calendar but after seeing all the work that goes into posts, a calendar is imperative. Hootsuite and HubSpot provide so many tools to aid in posing consistently and being able to posts at the times that a persons audience is more likely to be on. 

    Between Hootsuite and HubSpot, the one I preferred was Hootsuite. I felt like having a Hootsuite platform certification allowed me to learn all about the platform and what I could do on it. HubSpot included what could be done on their platform in the social media certification videos but there was so much information that it was all blurred together. I liked the fact that posts could be made on these platforms. I also liked that the calendar was on the main page and that it was easy to work with. For the Hootsuite calendar removing adding and planning ahead was very simple. These platforms provide an all in one space to see how your posts are doing on each platform and creating a plan to strategically implement your posts. I am very proud of myself for getting these certifications. It was difficult but I feel like I learned a lot about social media, creating posts and being a better social media manager.
